Amerlock Surface Tolerant Epoxies

Amerlock surface tolerant protective coatings are epoxy coatings that can be applied to compromised surfaces such as tightly adhering rust, old coatings and damp surfaces.  Three products make up the Amerlock product line,  Amerlock Sealer, a 100% solids penetrating epoxy primer, Amerlock 400 an epoxy self-priming topcoat that comes in a wide variety of colors and Amerlock 2 a fast dry surface tolerant epoxy coating that is self priming and can be used as a topcoat.  Please note you will need a drill motor mixer along with a drill motor to properly mix Amerlock surface tolerant epoxies.  We recommend you purchase a Jiffy Mixer for this purpose and always mix the materials to obtain a homogenous blend of the curative and epoxy resin.

• Amerlock Sealer                       

Amerlock Sealer is a clear rust penetrating sealer that is designed as a thin film primer for carbon steel substrates that cannot be prepared.  Amerlock Sealer is a 100% solids epoxy resin system that adheres to tightly adherent corrosion and must be topcoated with Amerlock 400 or Amerlock 2.  We do not recommend that you thin Amerlock Sealer so for this product you do not need to purchase any thinner.

• Amerlock 400

Amerlock 400 is an opaque surface tolerant epoxy coating that is available in a wide variety of colors.  Amerlock 400 is a low semi-gloss coating in appearance and is used to coat compromised surfaces such as tightly adhering corrosion and tightly adhering coatings as well as clean carbon steel, prepared non-ferrous metals, prepared stainless steel and SSPC-SP10 and SP5 blasted steel as a lining for water tanks and large diameter pipe.

• Amerlock 2

Amerlock 2 is an opaque surface tolerant fast dry epoxy coating capable of low temperature cure that is available in a wide variety of colors.  Amerlock 2 is a semi-gloss coating in appearance and is used to coat compromised surfaces such as tightly adhering corrosion and tightly adhering coatings as well as clean carbon steel, prepared non-ferrous metals, prepared stainless steel and SSPC-SP10 and SP5 blasted steel as a lining for water tanks and large diameter pipe.  Amerlock 2 is NSF approved.

• Amerlock 2 VOC Less than 100 grams per liter VOC

Amerlock 2 VOC is an opaque surface tolerant fast dry epoxy coating capable of low temperature cure that is available in a wide variety of colors.  Amerlock 2 VOC is a semi-gloss coating in appearance and is used to coat compromised surfaces such as tightly adhering corrosion and tightly adhering coatings as well as clean carbon steel, prepared non-ferrous metals, prepared stainless steel and SSPC-SP10 and SP5 blasted steel as a lining for water tanks and large diameter pipe. 

• Amercoat 65 Thinner      

We recommend you consider purchasing Amercoat 65 thinner which is blended to improve the application of Amerlock 400 and Amerlock 2 in varying environmental conditions.  Most of our customers purchase Amercoat 65 so they can thin the Amerlock 400 or Amerlock 2 up to 10%.
